what would an 89 s-10 blazer with a 4.3 have in it for gears???

most likely 3.08

you can check the RPO code list in the center console. look for a G** code, i think 3.08s are GU4

I've got a '91 S-Jimmy that we purchased new. As I recall, the only ratio options that year were 3.08's (stock) or 3.42's (came with HD trailer package). Some earlier years came with 4.11's, but I think that might have only been with a 4-banger under the hood.

I don't know how relative it is, but both of my S10s with 4.3L manual trans 4x4s had 3.42 gears from the factory.

yeah look for GT5, etc, then put it into google search along with RPO

in my experience 3.42 is extremely common in these and the mid late 80s F bodies too,

4.11 was in the luv's i know, but the s-10s too ? havent run into on yet
