What are y'all using for stowing things like tow straps and shackles so they don't go flying around? Was thinking about buying a cheap tool box and bolting it to the floor but that seems a little ghetto. Also looking for a way to strap a cooler down in the back also.

I am working on the same thing, setting up the rear of my K5. I am thinking of bolting in some E-Track to make hold downs adjustable for different cargo. I have some in my work van and its pretty handy stuff.

Yes they work with standard ammo cans. There’s a tab bolted to the back to keep it in place

Right now I only have a small toolbox bolted to the floor but I may add some ammo boxes for specific stuff.

Many many moons ago and a local truck accessory shop. Iirc, it’s a UWS brand box, roughly 18x18x36 and lockable.

I use canvas tool bags of varying size. 1 XL bag carries a bottle jack / jumper cables /plug kit and lug wrench. Medium one for tools and another for first aid. 1 for electrical repairs and misc. This makes it easier for me to swap between trucks. Different journeys require my super duty and others we can use the K5 or 1-ton. It's a grab and go type of setup so I always have the basic needs covered in any vehicle at any time.

In the future I'd like to build a deck style system with slide outs that covers the back floor of the K5.

I saw a couple of those multi pocket canvas bags when I was wheeling with @Hosalabad earlier this year, very cool. They look like a great way to both organize stuff and minimize space used. I’ll be adding 2-3 of them to the toolbox in the blazer.

I use 3 of the 81MM Ammo Cans behind the rear seats. One of the cans holds all of the recovery gear I need: tow straps, tree savers, snatch block, shackles, spare winch controller, etc....

I use ammo cans for basically all my storage in Twinkie. Some are bolted some are welded. I have a set of whatever I need in them and they stay, what ever it is in the truck so no need to move them or anything. My tools are in a bag in one of the boxes and the tools have soft containers for them in the bag.

My center console and the "glove" boxes for all the seats are ammo cans too.

Just the cheapo harbor freight ones and an XL Dewalt bag. They hold up fine.

I've got this big ass drawer. Recovery bag, misc crap, another driveshaft, and trash all go in it.
Behind the driver seat is a metal milk crate that keeps the coolant, oil, towels, and brake clean. Behind the passenger seat is the tool bag. Centered is the armrest icechest.

I like smaller bag "modules" in a box. It's hard to really rattle proof this way but it stuff is packed tight it does all right. It's nice having some box space so you can just throw something in that either doesn't have a dedicated place or that you don't want to take time to put away. A lot of this is for taking care of stuff in a vehicle where things will fall out if you don't attach them somehow.
As for tiedowns, the versatrac (Mac's trade name) or airline track stuff is great since it's sized a bit closer to the loads we actually need to tie down than E-track but obviously either works. We also have a lot of simple eye bolts through the floor and little rod gussets welded into cage corners or holes in cage gussets to make tiedown points.
We've started using a lot of cam straps since you can loosen them easily and they're often easily available with keeper hooks so that you can loosen a strap to get stuff out of a box without the strap coming unhooked. this is where attaching a box that has a good lid like an ammo can works well. I'm just not a fan of tall skinny containers unless your organization is really on point since what you need is usually at the bottom tangled up in a bunch of other stuff.

I’ve always just used ammo cans strapped down. I have a 3 ft by 2 ft box for behind the rear seat that hold it all. I need to bolt it down still but it’s there for now to hold everything in one general location. I’d like to do the track hold down ties though. That looks like a great idea.
