Hey all, say I have a question, I seemed to have shorted out my cigarette lighter and now i have no radio, no lighter and no interior lights. Which circuit are they all on? Are they all on one particular fuse? let me know! btw, the build is a 1988 chevy k5 blazer. 350 tbi

radio fuse if I remember, probably don't have a horn either..

I have popped that fuse a few times with a funky adapter plug that shorted out to ground in the cig lighter plug a few times, the last time I had issues with mine was with the vanity mirror on the passenger side visor, somehow the wire feeding the power to the light had pinched somewhere and cause a short. Unhooked it and all fine again. :D

Had the same problem - it was a single fuse, like stated above. If I remember right, it's a 20 amp fuse.

alright guys, I figured it out! it was the horn fuse, I never really considered this seeing as my horn has never worked lol but they ARE all on the same circuit! thanks for the help!

recently blew that fuse too, but for me, when i beeped my horn, the floor light under the dash lit up! but not the overhead lights. figured it was back feeding the circuit.

Yep all the same circuit. In my situation, the fuse would only blow if I had the driver door open(dome light on) and hit the horn at the same time. My short was at the dome light. Popped the cover off the dome light and it was clear. Swapped with a junkyard replacement. All is good.

Just because the subject line describes almost the same thing I experience yesterday....

I was changed the plug wires and re-routing things. Basically just cleaning things up.

I hopped into the truck and tried to start it. Cranked and cranked and cranked...no fire. Dang! What did I screw up?!?

Things that went wrong:

Cranked and did not fire up
No dome light
No headlights
No Cigarette lighter power
Turned key on, no whining in the back for fuel pump

After looking for some time, I noticed that the secondary "positive cable" from the battery had broken off. Probably when I somehow reinstalled the air cleaner intake. This wire went from the alternator to the battery. I cleaned it all up, re-attached and the truck started right up! All lights work too! Fixed!

Just wanted to pass that along.
