Stuck Truck- Please Help!

This happened to my camaro with a 700r4 in it. Was coming up a slight hill and and slam and all the sudden when I would pin it to 5000rpms it would go like 5mph. Twas the trans.

That is how this happened except I hit the gas real hard at the light and bang-boom-bam and the underneath started rattling like crazy. I've been through many tranis on cars before but never heard of one when it would continue to rattle and bang around- I still think its the torque converter or transfercase- but I have no idea what to look for in the transfer case.

sounds like you sheared your transmission input shaft. a buddies dodge race truck did that last fall. big bang/clunk. then if you floored it it would just creep along. got the tranny out and the input shaft was sheared.

Exactly- can the shaft be changed or are we talking a new trani then? Anyway to check the Transfercase before I put out the trans. If the transfercase is fine then either way the trans will have to come out- either the trans or torque converter. Also- anyone know hard a job a transremoval is on one of these? Especially on the floor?

you have to pull the tranny & converter out of the truck. and the tranny has to be totally disassembled to change the input shaft.

My truck had alot of your symptoms and it was my rearend sheared 15 teeth off the ring gear and 2 off of pinion. It sounded like the drive shaft was smacking the floorpan.

you have a 700r4 for transmision in there from what you said,them focken transmision are junk in my opinion but some people put some sort of kit in them and they work good after from what I have heard.some thingh like that happen to me on my 82 jimmy and the torque converder was shot.
