If you are running 33"+ tires stay away from a Ford 9" axle.
A "friend" was building a KOH racetruck and asked me what axles he should use, I said use the Chev Dana 60/14 bolt you have sitting in your garage. He ended up spending thousands of dollars on some cool guy bling'n 9" flipped axles that break at every race and he has 4 KOH DNFs.
My dad bought a brand new Bronco in 1978 and broke the 9" pinion support so many times, Ford quit fixing it and he swapped in a 5 lug Dana 60 rear in 1980.
