stupid question someone explain backspacing to me!!

Back spacing is simply the distance between the wheel mount surface of the wheel to the wheels back edge, hence "back spacing"

Back spacing is also sometimes refered to as offset.

Offset is the measurement of the distance between the wheel's centerline and the mounting surface, its either expressed negative or positive and usually in millimeters.

Backspace is just the distance between the mounting surface and the wheel lip.

They are related but not the same....

You are absolutely correct. :doah:

What was i thinking. I should have taken myself back to my race car days then i would have remembered correctly.

Wheel offset is the distance from the wheels centerline to the mounting surface.
