Stupid question time

One question...how to get the truck back out after the new springs might make it sit even higher than it is now ?...

I was watching the 3 stooges yesterday and the episode where they built a plane in a garage was on...and they forgot about getting it outside after it was finished..:D

Your door opening doesn't have much "extra" room to modify it,but it its only hitting the overhead door, maybe you can modify the tracks to gain another inch or two of fully raised clearance..

That's a great episode.

Yes I'm putting a smaller lift on it. Springs should ship out this week.

Is it just clearing the door or is it also not going to clear the ceiling? I ask because most of the time the door can be held up another couple inches manually while it is pulled in. Might check it out.

I got it in. It still scraped the opening just ever so slightly but it fit. Tires down to 5psi, spare in the bed, and me sitting in it.

Dunno. Depends when my new springs ship and I get the time to install them. Could be two weeks, could be a month. Who knows what this dang virus is going to do to my delivery.
I may be incorrect, but I thought that you went for ORD springs. I got some U-bolts made at Alcan Wednesday and they are still working so far, they just aren't allowing customers inside. Had to do everything outside.

And no @Bent77 , it wasn't just me!! They didn't slap the sign up as I pulled into the parking lot!

I used to have a Land Rover Discovery, and I put a lift on it in my garage. There was a moment of panic as I looked at the garage door when I was done, but thankfully it squeezed under with less than an inch to spare. I felt really dumb for a few minutes when I was thinking it wasn't going to fit out.

My friend had a Range Rover (I think, may have been a Land Rover) in his shop a customer brought in for an oil change and new front brake pads..
After he put it up on the lift, the air bags inflated themselves all the way,and when he let it down after the job was completed,it wouldn't fit out the door opening !..he had to deflate all 4 tires,to get it to fit under the door..

He didn't know how to re-set the system, but the customer did, when he came to pick it up and he told him what happened--the customer laughed and said "yeah,I did that too,one day I had it in my garage and I jacked it up to put different tires on it--then almost took the roof off when I went to back it out!..:doah:..said he had to call a dealer to find out how to get it to lower again..

I run my tires at 20 psi all the time. No problems there. My old garage was 7 ft doors as well. Had to drop to like 10 lbs and left it there until I got it back out. Glad I don’t have to do that anymore.
