Subjective Sensibility

A handshake agreement and a 2500 mile drive later, I have my work cut out for me. The goal is a reliable camping and hunting truck with good off road capability and potential for a daily driver.
I am an absolute novice compared to the average ck5 member. That being said I built my 89' for the same purpose and it has suited me well.

4.56 gears with front and rear Truetracs (Would have done 4.10s too late now. The true tracs have worked great for street and light off road)
2 1/2" Skyjacker Soft Ride Front
3" Tuff Country EZ Ride Rear
ORD Steering Brace (easy to do and reuse original brace with upgraded brace)
Borgeson steering Shaft
RedHead Steeing Gear
ORD HD Front and Rear Shackles
ORD Sway Bar disconnect
Bilstein 5125 front and rear
Corbeau Seats Front
Merrick rear seat brackets with 2012 Tahoe 3rd row seats
High/Low Relay Painless
350 TBI 700R4 NP241
Tom Woods SYE and Driveshaft (Only way to eliminate vibration for my truck)
Mickey Thompson 16" x 8" Bridgestone Revo 3 285/75/16 (Deep well for lug nuts total pain in the ass) 3.75 Backspace for my truck not many options

Thanks for the specs and parts list! That's right where I am headed with this one. Good to have that list ahead of time so I can gather all the parts before trying to put a lift on it.

I'll be getting the Engineered Vintage hidden winch mount which doubles as frame reinforcements.

I can save you a couple bucks.

Ooh. I wish I could. Between medical bills and having to buy a lawn mower i'm tapped for a spell. I'll check the listing when things are better to see if you still have it though.

Took the rear window apart a few days ago as it barely worked. Wasn't too bad pulling everything out of the tailgate. I took the drive gear mechanism off to regrease it and found a bunch of tiny ball bearings floating around in it. Miraculously I found all ten bearings and was able to press the race back into reasonable shape before putting it all back together. Not sure if it will fall apart again but if it does i'll find a new bearing or just use some brass washers in place of it. Aside from that fiasco the drive gear housing is quite simple to take apart and reassemble.

POR 15 prep and paint on the diff covers, courtesy of the boys. Rear was a mess from 35 years of being jacked up. Some creative work on the 20T press got it back to flat. The outer lip is still mangled a bit but it should at least seal up now. Previously the lip was bent out all the way to the bolt hole, voiding a lot of sealing surface. .

Did the needful and cleaned for several hours this past weekend. Also found the first rust to go through a panel. Only slightly surprised considering it came from a sand farm in southern New Mexico.

Removed the rotten "chrome" plastic trim and found a bit of rust.
