Suburban 3/4 ton 2wd to 4wd Conversion

COOL.

I worked quite a bit on it today.

More welding on the convertible conversion/Blazer top.

I also drilled all the new holes for the passenger B52's.

I also did some fab work around the perimeter of the roof to make the Blazer top fit better.

ok guys, let's keep it civil and on topic, good luck with your build.

it looks the same to me other then the very front crossmember, 2wd has holes, 4x4 is solid

so along with that and motor crossmember customed for crossover, i am good to go

the rear will be shackel flip and 4 inch blocks,.... front will be lifted 52s with drop hanger and shackesl for the front, I had it in my previous camo 77 jimmy

But i think a longbox will be more practical.. I will be installing a rear shock upper crossmember, as well as modifying the cab tunnel for the tcase, sticking with the automatic th350/n205, I got the dapater and tcase for a trade

let me know if that engine crossmember bolts in, I might have to get one, onless you can send measurements and pictures, I will build it then

i was under mine today and even saw the 4 holes for the front - rear shackel mount, just no 2 inch hole in the middle

The frames are BASICALLY the same. Everything is NOT a straight over conversion, but the frames have the same dimensions...

well thats basically all that matters

im wondering about notching the engine crossmember for the crossover

also i have a 83 jimmy available for my crossmembers

the very front crossmembers has holes in it.. i thought 4wds were solid( where proportioning valve goes)

mmmmm I do not know about the difference between crossmembers as far as that goes.....

I know the 4x4 one is more straight up and down, whereas the 2wd lays over towards the front of the frame.....

yeha i noticed that

i ran into something, dunno if you mentioned this but the rear shackel hanger is shorted on the 2wd..

good thing i have spare 4wd units, ready for the homebrew flip

Wel, like I said in my other post that I have been vacant from the last 6 months, I wanted to post this up for HOWDIY, to give him some reference.

Here you go kid.

I have mocked everything up and it all fits.

I have not had to clearance ANYTHING, but time will tell.
