Went to the local Mud Bog Boogie today and ran in my first ever mud bog. :saweet: It was really fun. :thumb:

I drove home under my own power too.....

Met a fellow CK5'er there (91 full size jimmy), so hopefully he'll post up his images on this thread. I don't have any pics of ME, since I'm the one behind the camera most of the time, but I had quite a few people snapping pics of me and my truck, so once I get them I'll post them in the gallery too.

HERE WE GO!!!!......... :usaflag:

Link to pics is here: http://www.norcalbigdawgs.net/Gallery/album134

...And the Video of my run in the pit (50MB!) http://www.norcalbigdawgs.net/bb03/pics/Gregs%20Mud%20Bog%20Run.MPG

I hope you like my "sponsors" :D

I unbolted the exhaust and ran open headers just to make it more raunchy-sounding. :saweet: The pit was 150' long and had deep tracks in it. I was having quite a bit of trouble just getting through the tracks that the bucket loader made to even get to the timing lights at the staring line....I figured my run was going to be DOOMED! But once I got through about the first 30 feet...the truck just got in a slow rythym and I just kept the revs up and sawed the wheel from side to side which really helped it to "bite" in to the ruts and keep me moving along.

I forget my exact time, but I think it was something like 1m 30 seconds. The fastest truck made it in something like 20 seconds....and a LOT of trucks didn't even get all the way down the track, so I felt pretty lucky to have gotten as far as I did.

It was a LOT of fun....my engine compartment is packed with mud, and my electric fans are broken (again) but other than that the truck ran flawlessly.

you cant just put PICS AND VID in the title line and not have it you dirty bastard!!!!! (get it he was at a mud bog) next time change the title after you add the pic so as not to get my hopes up.

do that again and you joining the band!:haha:

So Greg, 46 pics and not a one of you?

How are any of us supposed to believe that you were actually there let alone competing in the event. :haha:

You could have at least made it more believable by taking a pic of your muddy blazer after you were done or even after you got home. :shame:

It doesn't look like theres any first gen blazers there. in fact if you look real close in one of those pictues i think i can see greg's porche with spinners in the parking lot! :haha:

OK OK OK....

The video should be working now (not the easiest thing to upload BTW)

Hopefully the NorCal site doesn't get crushed by all the simultaneous requests to download this.... :D

And like I said, when I get pics of ME from the other photographers I will post them. :thumb:

Cool video, looks pretty damn gooey to me!! What happened at the start? Looks like you started in high range and then decided low range would be better?

They pulled me up near the start to hook up the cable, and then they signalled me to stage at the timing lights.

The bucket loader went into the pit just before my run and put some MASSIVE ruts right in front of the starting line, so I really struggled just to get to the line.

Once the woman signaled me to go (which you can see in the video) I floored it (mostly) in 4LO but it took maybe 30 feet before the truck even started to really build up any speed. After that, it just kind of chugged along at a decent clip (the rules give you 3 minutes to complete the course) so I just sawed the wheel and I just kept going and going and going!!!! The majority of people didn't make the full distance, so I felt pretty good about my run.

I think my dad said I finished in 1 minute 12 seconds... :pimp:

Just watched it again...got it now.

"Sponsored by ColoradoK5 and the NorCal Big Dawgs huh?" :haha:  :haha:

Nice job!
