so i have had this side project going on for a bit and only dropped a few pics to hint of it on here until now . . ..

this started as i was asked to fix the orignal unit my boss had made years ago . it was a o.k. design but had a few weak points in it . well 1 day he used it and found them .

so i figured why not make a BIGGER and BETTER unit and try and sell them ? ? ?

so here is the results of my little big project .

its a tow dolly for BIG trucks when there broken / damaged / cant be towed with a axle on the ground for some reason . heck we have used it for campers that have been in peoples back yards for so long the tires are falling off / brakes frozen / what ever you can think of to put on it and tow away fast and easy .

1 pair of 14ff axles from local junk yard . cut center section out . cut full floater axle from end cap . install freeze plug in spindle to seal off and hold grease . change hubs from oil bath to grease bath . use sch-40 4"o.d. pipe for new axle tubes and the rest of the units tubing . 2 8x4x.245thick I-beam for end beams . the upper beams are passed threw the I-beam and welded both sides . the 14ff spindles and tubes are slid in the new axle tubes and end welded and plug welded for full width support over old design that was only part length sleaved and bent at the joint spot .

then 16" trailer tires in 14ply load G range were installed for a 16,320 lb load capacity . the unit is 1k lbs by its self .

the unit can haul about any thing you can think of to fit in it . with 8 5/8" weld on D-rings you have lots of tie down options to pick from to secure the load .

big thanks to my friend's how helped with design questions for the load workings and @mrk5 who made the center cap stickers to give this the extra little kick of pro built it needed .

listed it today on ebay and cant wait to see what it might bring and maybe make a few more for some easy money . i have a bit tied up in this on my own so we will see what it does . https://www.ebay.com/itm/302813696813

if anyone has input on it or otherwise just let me know this kind of thing is new to me .

1st listing didnt do to good on ebay . i had it in the CORRECT section for tool / equipment . it did just over 70 views / 3 watchers in a week .

this listing has a day left on it and is in wreckers for sale . . . . . and has over 1400 :yikes: views / 47 watchers. . . . https://www.ebay.com/itm/302824372700

i guess some times you just need to list them in the wrong section .

now i just need someone to hit the button to own it .

2018 SUPER DOLLY
SUPER TOW DOLLY unit wrecker tow truck

today we have a listing for ........ SUPER DOLLY ..................

this unit is much bigger than your standard tow truck wrecker dolly unit . this unit is made for BIG trucks / campers / stuff that's just to big or bulky to fit in a reg size tow dolly setup that is found on smaller wrecker trucks .

this unit is made to help DRASTICALLY reduce your on site clean up time of a wreck or disabled BIG vehicle that for some reason you can't tow with the axles on the ground . this item can be loaded on a rollback flatbed to deliver to the work site . this gives you a extra worker at the site to help speed up the job . you can even hang this from your BIG wrecker tow truck and be taken to the call . you would then lift one end of the disabled vehicle and place the SUPER DOLLY under and set the load in and secure it down with up to 8 5/8" D-ring tie down points on the unit to pick from . then hook the other end and tow away and get the job done faster & with less work .

if you want a faster way to move big objects / dead & damaged trucks / old dead campers / shipping containers / what ever you can think of to fit in or on this then this is the unit for you .

the load capacity of the tires is 16,320 lbs on 16" trailer cargo tires with load range G and 14 ply . the unit is 10ft 8in wide outside tire to tire . the inside area is setup to to fit up to 104inch width . the tire pans low point is 12" off the ground . the SUPER DOLLY is just at about 1000 lbs weight by its self . the open section of the unit is set at a 53inch opening to give oil pan / brake chamber / drive shaft room for most items being hauled . the last 2 pics are of a trailer suspension unit fitting in the SUPER DOLLY .

this item can pay for its self in just 2-3 jobs then after this its all profit .

i am asking $7,000.00 ..... OR ..... HIT THE BEST OFFER . . .

this unit is made for for temporary use as to its overall width . this unit is for trained towing professionals . this unit is sold as is with no liability on sellers part as it is to be used by trained professionals .

A end of sale deposit of $200.00 is to be made via paypal and will be credited to full sale price . FULL payment to be made when item is picked up . do not pay until you have talked with me first .

Congrats on the sale. Did you end up getting a fair price for your work?

i am happy / made a good few bucks / new owner paying shipping .

you know new product or specialty item it takes time and just 1 or 2 people to use it then word of mouth it should take off . my old boss has had a smaller weight capacity unit for years and he loves it for when he needs it . and when not in use it takes up a lot less space over a semi truck / trailer combo . and no plates required so cheeper there .

if there is a call for them once people start to see them out there i would build more .

i was smart and made a pair of templates for the cut out sections on the i-beams . so clamp / trace with plasma cutter / clean with grinder and build .
