Yeah I don't like the idea of diesel in there, mostly just the odors. Right now with my Camaro in there, and the t-tops off, plus a bunch of cloth stuff for Krusty, I don't want that type of odor permeating everything I own.

Grainger has a couple of water based solvents, including one with a citrus scent, but they aren't cheap at around $50 a 5 gal bucket. I may have to look into them though and see what their dillution is to see if they will be worth it long term.

LOL I was reading these posts about the smell , and I was thinking to my self "what smell???" I guess thats what you get from practically bathing in the stuff on a daily basis.

My parts cleaner was real cheap. When I worked for BP, environmental decided our parts cleaned wasn't "green" and ordered it removed from the shop. I removed it alright, right to my house. All I had to do was find a plastic barrel it would fit (they "properly disposed" of the original barrel and fluid) and buy cleaner fluid. BP paid over $1400 for the cleaner when they bought it. It works just fine in my shop.

cool idea, ill have to look into doing something similar. ill probably have to buy a good solvent on a trip to Arizona though.

i went to buy more valuecraft brake cleaner i liked to use since it works from autozone the other day (i buy it in cases and finally ran out). to my surprise they stopped selling in california. i used that stuff for everything, cleaning engine parts for assembly, gun parts, etc.

well week or so ago i got my nice flow threw parts washer brush. hooked it up to the twin pump and ran the 3/8 hose out to the top of the backsplash and droped it to 5/16 out to the brush its self. has LOTS of fluid flow and works great. ( pic #1 )

then a friend was tossin out a van style headach rack from a old contractors van. i took the center panel and cut this off. ( pic #2 & 3 ) it makes a nice flow threw lifted panel and cleaning tool tray at the end. best part was free.

back from the dead

made a frame with wheels . 2 fixed rear and 2 swivel front .

sides and bottom bedlinered for sound control . . . no more TWANNNNNG when yo hit it .

even had a nice stainless top bent up for it so its got a lid .

and behind the bucket is the cordless control box for the sucker . . . . . 12volt lawn mower battery !

dam legs are odd size pipe . not electric conduit or reg pipe size.

so I got to take and cut the conduit down / slit and shrink it a tiny bit and weld it up. then make the new legs little taller . the whole thing is a lil short for my tastes .

Nice job...! I've been watching CL for a sink like that.
Around here they are hard to find and expensive.
I had a cheap parts washer......it rusted out after about 2 years.

I want to use a citrus based cleaner that washes off with water.
It's so powerful it will take the paint right off a painted PW, that's why I want stainless.
