supermotard's 74 Jimmy "Magdalena" Build Thread

The only decent Camaros you see around here, are few and far between.
Mostly just V6's with Cherry Bombs, pretending to be V8's. :haha:

We had a 00 WS6 firebird come in for a smog at our shop...was hard working on vdubs with a nice american product on the dyno

So I've pretty much neglected and let this thread die so I'm going to photo dump with some minor commentary. But here's the quick version, after the trim job was done she was dubbed "The Trimmy". Then I did the 14BFF front axle build, in boarded the rear shocks. Got stationed in South Carolina so moved away from So Cal and good wheeling and good wheeling friends. Once in SC the trimmy became my daily driver and saw zero wheeling time. But still found a reason to put on an A-Bomb bumper center from DIY4X, replaced my rockers with 2x4 steel "rocker-sliders", a winters gated shifter, finally did my rear disk brake conversion. Also very importantly I finally sanded down all the welds on cut down bed and primed it so its all one color.

After all that I deployed to Japan for 6 months. So I had to drive the trimmy from SC to NY. So 860 miles I'm pretty sure not only did I hurt the transmission I'm pretty sure the engine is on its way down too. The Trans kept slipping at cruising speed (65) so the only way to keep it from slipping way to keep the revs up so around 80mph on military take offs the Trans stopped slipping. But found out at the first gas stop that the motor drinks about 1 quart of oil per hour of 80mph driving. I also had to stop twice at an auto zone an change all 8 plugs "TWICE!!!!!" But I did make it.

Yea back in SC. got a tow rig now that Is about as awesome as I could ask for. A Chevy 2500hd crew cab short bed duramax. Also bought a trailer to bring the trimmy back to SC, but I didn't have time to get the trailer all ready it needs brakes and some wiring fixed. So I had to leave the trailer and trimmy in NY I'll most likely head back up there in the summer to get everything.
