Hey guys, I have a 1979 K5 4x4 blazer. Bought it 6 months ago and was a pretty screamin find. 54k miles on it in pretty good condition.

That being said, all the bushings and shocks are pretty trashed. I’ve gone to LMC to buy polyurethane bushings but they have multiple size options..does any one know what the stock size is for the various components? I really don’t want to take it all apart and measure all the individual sizes (I can’t start and project and leave it to sit for a while, I’ll forget where everything goes *cry*).

I’m a new member here so go easy on me if I’ve left out crucial details!

Thanks.

Two typical procedures for taking old bushings out. One, fire. Burn ‘‘em out and knock out the sleeves. Two, holesaw. Size the saw just inside the sleeve and the center but will index on the inner sleeve. You’ll have to run the saw from each side. Then knock out the sleeve.

Get the bushings from ORD. Worth it.

Man we got lucky with my new one. The front shackle bushings popped out with zero effort. The new bushings fought us more than the old ones did.

3rd option is Snap on long barrel air hammer, thing just works. Wish I had got one a long long time ago. Pushes bushings right out, cut rivets like warm butter.
Most will 1.5" dia the front upper shackle bushing are factory 1.25" and ORD makes a new bushing gusset, that take 1.5" dia bushings.

This is the beast https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZWW3BW5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 I got mine used on flee bay, Works great.

And welcome to CK5
