ok...i finally got my suspension installed and the beast rides like there's no shocks installed. details:
1986 K5 305
2.5" procomp springs in the front
1.5" procomp block kit in the rear with 1 add a leaf
Rancho RSX's all the way around.

this is really starting to tick me off..im used to rought rides from racing but this is an almost uncontrollable bounce. any ideas, suggestions??

UPDATE
after serious cursing at the world I started measureing shock travel and spring travel. i found out that the shock inhibited the axle movement by up to 3 inches! i pulled the shocks off took them back and bought the 9000's for a 2.5 to 4" lift.
let me tell you the difference, before it drove like i was on railroad tracks, now i driving a caddy! its so smooth that i'm loving my blazer again. thank you all for you suggestions and remember...just because its the right p/n don't mean its the right part.

what kinda of lift did you get? My rough country lift rode really really rough and almost threw me out of my seat. But after a week or so it broke it and now i couldnt ask for it to ride any better. Your lift just may need a little time.

Did you tq. to spec. ? Arethe poly bushings greased? I understand those are supposed to be some stiff springs. Have you cycled the springs thru a trailride? They could be needing a break in period. I am about out of ideas.

Did you torque the u-bolts with the trucks weight on the springs? If not the springs could be binding.

1. thank you all for your reply's...i really appreciate people trying to help out a fellow k5'r.

2. after looking up p/ns and banging my head around i noticed that the shocks they sold me are for a 0-2" lift. after lifting it should be sitting around 2.5" above stock. would this cause the bounce i described or would this just cause the shocks to wear out prematurely??

thanks...

the add a leaf is very stiff in the rear.. that's the main part of the stiff ride... give the front a 2 week period to break in!

I'm running the same set-up but with Procomp shock's...

The springs in the front were very stiff, but since then the've been a bit softer. Just give the springs some time to "relax"..

Yes the rpo comp springs are tight really tight, but they are a good purchase. The shocks well that would definitely be your problem. As for rear ride. Add a leafs add to the stiffness big time. You might go get a tad bit taller blocks for the back and it will help your ride. But one thing add a leafs do a nice job is eliminating body roll and your braking is better as the back end doesnt come up so high.
