i know its been dissuced before but does anyone have something they have made that is similar while using a ord or diy flip bracket??

i want to say that scoobydans 1st rig was that way as he already had a flip in place before adding marvs setup.

thanks man at least you dont have some samrt a$$ remark to make about it..

I'm going to back daleearnhart01 on this one. Way too many people ask questions that could have been found with a search. A spell checker might help your searches.

so let me ask this...

if you had a flip and made something similar, would it be worth it??you would need just as much front flex to use it and it would be useless unless you could keep the front driveline togher...

dont get me wrong if you had just as much in the front it would be bad a$$ but can you get that much just on leaves??if so with out spending a ton of $$??

There are still a few of us still running the Springer Suspension.

I am one of them.

Any issues or anything you would change ? I was thinking about 4 link in rear and seen this and made me wonder. Would it be a good alternative to a 4 link ?

Seems these might have the same tendency to "unload" going down a very step hill. Thats would be bad. I noticed in the one oic on his site he has a buggy spring thing on the front shackle. He runs a panhard bar I guess because of it. I wonder how happy he is with that set up.

A good traction bar would help the Springer suspension alot. It should also have a panhard bar to stop excessive side to side movement.

As far as needing as much front flex to make it work you really don't need as much front flex. There are not a lot of options to make the front of a K5 flex like a springer will in the rear. Rob has one of the exceptions with his hybrid Jeep/K5 spring packs that flex like mad but he can/does break mainleaves occasionally.

A 4link vs Springer a 4 link will win for sure. Leaves are old technology that work ok but if you are after the best all around benefits links are where it is at. A Springer is a capable suspension but isn't as good as a well designed link setup.

The springer suspension was designed to be used with stock spring buckets not shackle flip brackets. I am sure it can be made to work though.

He didn't like the buggy leaf on the front springs of his K5. I talked to him about running it one time and he advised me not to especially if street driven.

As far as it unloading on steep downhills I have never really seen any evidence of bad unloading going downhill. I have wheeled with more then a few guys who have run the Springer over the years and havn't seen it happen yet.

I have that buggy leaf , and the attached 2.5 inch Ranco Prerunner pack , round about way , but after sitting here for almost four years they are mine now .

I may use them without the buggy spring for a soft ride when I can afford a nice streetable K5 .
