suspention designed by marv springer pics needed..

You should check out some of my pictures that I have posted up on this site. They are in the Picture area, just search under my user name.

Some of the flex shots with Springer Suspension are still up.

A four link is a much better option, but this Springer was never designed to compete with a four link. It was used to get crazy flex using cheap stock products.

Unloading on down hill or side hill situation is total hogwash. I have run this suspension now for well over 5 years now, and I have run it HARD. More than most, and I have NEVER had it unload on downhill and or side hill situations.

Like Harley said above. I have a little less travel in the front, but not much less, WITH leaf springs. They are a hybrid setup, but they are flex and they are soft. But also like Harley said, I have broken a few main leafs. But overall it has been worth it.

Leaf springs are still the bomb in certain applications, and one application would be, being not loaded and able to afford all the cool stuff, coilovers etc....

Look at the pictures you will see it in real life.

so let me ask this...

if you had a flip and made something similar, would it be worth it??you would need just as much front flex to use it and it would be useless unless you could keep the front driveline togher...

dont get me wrong if you had just as much in the front it would be bad a$$ but can you get that much just on leaves??if so with out spending a ton of $$??

How about this kind of flex with leaf springs front and rear? These are the best I can find now, I know there are some others that show leaf spring flex better.

Just remember, this truck has been a trailer queen more than 1/2 it's life so I don't daily drive it at all. It's totally beat to death on the trail.

Hey twoslo,

Just saw this thread....

Although a couple of locals are still running this suspension, my advice to you is to go "link suspension". Leaf springs w/ a drop shackle will never be as good as a link setup. My setup was a stepping stone for the learning curve of suspension mods. I think you will be happier w/ a 3 or 4 link .....
