Swapliftication of the '89 Burb

not nearly as much as i'd like. i think i'm taking a break from the diet this week to smoke up a brisket, i think ive earned it. we're coming into the off season for BBQ competitions right now, we've only got 2 or 3 more left this year.

on a side note, my wife's general manager has been talking about opening up a BBQ restaurant. (he comes from some pretty serious money) and already asked me if id be willing to run the kitchen! he already runs a pizza joint and wants to get into BBQ. it would work here in vegas, thats for sure, all we've got is famous daves and memphis championship. i told him as long as i could make the same or better than i do now, i'm in. we'll see what happens.

sounds like a sweet opportunity! that is the hard part about doing real bbq is getting people to realize the time it takes to do it right.

very true. and getting people to realize that burgers and hot dogs are not BBQ. nor are boiled ribs...

The Swampers look great on the stock steelies!!

they do, i like it a lot.

thanks i thought the vintage white was a nice touch. i need to get some ford 16.5's so i can alternate with the crew cab. eventually h1's but not after the dana 60 and cummins is in. if this project makes it that far.

on another note, progress on the list is slow. i disassembled the dana 44 and brought it to the shop to get the limited slip installed, along with seals and bearings.

i did finish the engine stand for the cummins i would like to eventually mount an axle and a hitch on it, but it will do for now.

monday i went and helped a neighbor get firewood and found another reason liftgates are awesome, not a dent or a scratch.

oh and boiled ribs, yeah no.

started the week with some pulled pork on the smoker for a friend. got my dana 44 back thursday. installed the driverside knuckle, and painted it hammer black. it came out good i think. still need to send the pass knuckle to skys for machining.
