hey there, im swapping my 4wd steering box out for a 2wd box to do crossover, and i need help disconnecting the steering shaft from the box. i have the 2 lines out and i know there are the 4 bolts that are in the saide of the frame. at what point do i disconnect the steering shaft, so i can take the box out? sorry if it doesnt make 100% sense, hopefully u understand what im trying to do :doah: :D

thanks,
james

I Just Changed Mine Out Last Week And I Took The Two Bolts Out Of The Rag Joint Where The Shaft Meets The Box Then Took Out The 4 Bolts That Hold The Box To The Frame. Once The Box Is Free You Can Pull It Away From The Shaft. The Steering Shaft Should Also Collapse A Few Inches If Necessary That Helps When Reinstalling

alright thanks, ill go back outside in the 25* weather and continue :-)

Why not just swap sector shafts? It is soooo much easier! Four bolts and voila!
