swappping from th350 to sm465

I know this has been covered and I have searched,I know how to do the swap so thats not my question,my question is am I going to feel a difference? going from a half slipping auto to a freshly rebuilt manual? with 5.13's in the F+R 1 tons will the crawl ratio be to low?

Yes you will notice a difference, when I did the swap it was like night and day. Is there suck a thing as to low of a crawl ratio? I plan on 7.17 and 37s but thats just me. the only thing that sucks about the 465 is the wide gears, if your running with friends they will always drive right between your 2nd and 3rd gears.

I have heard that 5.13's and the sm465 would be too low of a gear for offroad some guy told me that with the 465 the perfect gear ratio would be like 4:56's or so with 39.5" anything else would be too low and granny low and reverse would be worthless. ANY THOUGHTS?

You might not have to put the TC in 4 low as often that could be a good thing. I'm running 4.56s and 35s by the guys estimates (4.56s and 39s) that would be too low and actually as low or lower than your 5.13s and 39s. So I say go for it. Hell the c30 in my signature has 5.14s and 8.00-16.5 tires w/ a SM465!
