sway bar drop??

The size of the tires will never make for sports car handling . 30/35 psi is good for street use. 20 is bouncy castle land!

Just ditch the swaybar. I took mine off and cant tell the difference and Ive gotta couple roundabouts in my area and I hall a trailer a couple times a week.

It sounds like the original problem was bump steer, not stiff ride, no? Although with/without a sway bar is a popular topic here, I don't think sway bar disconnects would help bump steer. If the truck is actually bump steering, then anything you do to loosen up the suspension will make it worse.

Look for problems in the steering joints and box. These trucks also like to crack the frame behind the steering box. I would also ride with your buddy to see if the truck turns with a bump or if his arm is moving with a bump. Some of these trucks are valved pretty lightly and at highway speeds, it's easy to have your own arms thrown around by bumps. The best way to check is to put your hands at the 10:00 and 2:00 positions, so the bumping is cancelled out. Then you can see what the steering/suspension is doing by itself.

i dont think i`m actually getting bumpsteer, it is real stiff around turns sometimes too, i`ve already replace the box and swapped out the shaft for an XJ shaft thats double u jointed

What's really stiff? the steering action or your suspension? I thought you had a problem with your suspension, not your steering system?

the suspension, i know i`m confusing you, i`m confused now too

the sway bar is stock, no drop or anything, if i get the QD from ORD, will it help anything is pretty much what i`m getting at

what exactly is the problem? you've kind of introduced a couple problems here.

bumpsteer is poor steering geometry. do you have a raised steering arm or drop pitman arm to compensate for the lift? as i understand it, stock push/pull steering will almost invariably have bumpsteer.

ive also ditched my swaybar and never looked back. seems like half the people that shell out for these ORD quick disco's find out that they are a pain if you wheel your truck and end up ditchin the sway bar as well. up to you, but i know it would be a waste of cash for me.

With anything over a 2 or 3" lift the sway bar will cause problems. An ORD kit, in my own experience , help massively with this problem. It'll take you back to a stock sway bar geometry and get rid of the lift induced stiffness.
But like I said before, just take it off and go for a drive around the block and you'll see what I mean.

thanks i`ll check it out, i do have a raised steering arm to correct the geometry, and with the sway bar being a problem when wheelin, i dont do it enough for it to be a problem
