sweet deals. they're out there.

Latest freebie's are an 80s high pinion 60, but looks like a 78/79 style cause the long tube on the driver side. Also got for free, Ford 205, GM 205 from an 82 400 with 8 track adaptor and a 91 241 off a 4l80 with adaptor. Also did some trading with Brett (sweetk30) for a NV4500, traded a GM60 that I got for $125. No pics, but try to get some....

I never seem to find the good deals. :(

I had my eye out for deals on Blazers for about a year - then I paid too much for the first one. I was gonna just use it as a beater, 'till I got bit by the bug again. Parted out the first one (rustier than I wanted to fix) and got about half the purchase price back (so far) and swapped the trans and interior into the second Blazer (my current project). I got a reasonable price on the second one (actually the same price as the first). It had a decent body and came with new 38" swampers on beadlocks and a generic 4" lift, but it had a trashed interior and fragged trans and rear axle. I figure by the time I finish selling off the remnants of the first one and leftover parts from the second one, I'll prolly have paid for the first one (minus all the extra labor). :dunno:

My 82 K30, complete frame-off resto done, all axles, trans, and x-fer case rebuilt, new paint (not perfect, but looks good), minus motor for $500.00. Needs interior done yet. Also from the same guy, he sold me 4 new BFG Mud terrains-285/75R-16's for $100.00 for all 4.

only great deal I got was while I was in high school some years ago. neighbor down the road had an old looking k5 rotting in the back pasture with some groundhawgs on it. I needed a good parts truck at the time for my 86 so I stopped to talk to the guy. Turns out the k5 belonged to his son he let it go and finally kind of gave up on it I guess a couple years before so he tells me if I can get it hauled off I can have it. Get it towed to my parents finally cuz it basically looked like a heap. come to find out it had a basically brand new GM crate 350 with a single plane edelbrock intake and an 850 double pumper carb (obviously the carb was not quite right for the engine, sold it), 350 trans with a some kind of nice shift kit in it, a 203 with part-time kit. 12b rear with 4.11 and auburn in it and d44 front. Swapped it all into my 86 and ran it for years. Only prob I had was the gears in the d44 were still 3.08s and the rear were 4.11:doah:. Blew the tcase first time I went wheeling, don't know why:confused::D. that's when I learned to check both diffs for the gear ratio, not just the back. think it was a 78 or 79. Never really knew for sure. But was by far the best deal I ever got

Found a '90 1/2t Sub for $500. The interior was perfect. PO said it didn't run and needed a new engine(209,000mi) & the rear 10b was blown but had a Detroit locker (thats what they all say) Sold the 10b frt w/ 3.73's for $150. It actually had a Detroit in the rear 10b, sold it for $300. Replaced the ECM fuse and it fired right up. This one has been my project for the last 3? years.

Last year : I got a set of new 12b H1's (5) for free. O-rings, nut & valve stems still in the plastic bags.

Set of H2's w/ new 315/70/17 Goodyears on them for $125

bought this for $500 from a buddy. just had put a rebuilt t400 203 in it had about 2,000 miles on it, did the motor after the tranny was done so it had like 1500 miles on decently built motor. he was borrowing my 39.5's so didn't really get tires but had flat top 44, 14ff rear both 4.10's perfect body, good drivelines and extra t350 203 came with it.

I ended up putting the drivetrain out of it into my blazer as with the cobra cb and nice pioneer stereo system and sold the t350 for 25 cause it was toast then sold the rest of the truck with my old axles and the case with it for 500 so ended up making 25 on the deal plus all my drivetrain oh and springs.:D

No pics, but so far these are the deals I have gotten:

I was looking for a Warn winch bumper, and a member here named kgblazerfive had one for sale. Price was $75, so I PMed him and made a plan to get it. After talking to him he mentioned he had a 14bsf and 10b with 4.10 gears, and a 4" lift with good rear springs and blocks for the rear, all for the great price (to me at least) of $150. Now I just need to get it all installed.

Picked up a complete power window setup from an 80 Burb, free, just had to use my time to remove it. Also grabbed both front window regulators, tail light lenses, side marker lenses w/ the chrome trim, and a few other things I can't remember at the moment.

I did get a Honda Elite like that from my brother for cheap. I drove it to school for a while 'till I holed a piston, then I threw it in my trunk and took it to the scrap yard. :D

I also bought my first car, a yellow '79 Pontiac Lemans with a 231 from him for $1. The joke was on me though, 'cause I put a reman longblock and two rebuilt 200-4Rs in it before selling it back to him for $1000. :doah:

Picked up my K5 for $1000. It had a 5yr old Goodwrench crate motor, new 31'' a/t, new Jvc cdplayer and edelbrock carb/intake. A few weeks after I bought it from my buddy he offered me a rebuilt Qjet, some swap meet heads and $50 cash for the ebrock carb. Then I sold the heads for $80.

when I bought the k5 in 05

Then I bought a 6'' lift for $75, frt springs and rear blocks. A friend gave me a new steering arm and found my 35''s m/t of craigslist for $120

Also picked up a 78 RamCharger for free from a local board. Just has blown trans and the 400 was in pieces in the bed :doah: It'll be getting the k5's old 31'' soon so I can atleast roll it around.
