I was curious if anyone has had any luck finding and swing out tire kit for their Blazer. I have an 88 and most of my searches are coming up blank. I've looked through the forum and have seen a Hickory swing out carrier, but a google search doesn't find that brand. At this point I'm not opposed to a body mount because I don't want to swap out the entire bumper.

I'm also looking for a bull bar or push bar. Don't want a full blown brush guard just mainly looking for a rack to hold some KC lights up front.

Thanks in advance!

I think what you were looking for is Hickey Enterprises, not hickory. you can find the swing outs in junkyards sometimes, but probably better to just do a bumper/tire carrier combo.

Blue85 made it easy on ya, just click away.

No worries.

Something else you can do in search, is search "tags"
Or if you go up to the tags on this thread, click "tire carrier" and it will list some of the builds with tire carriers

Search hickey enterprises on eBay. They are Currently making light bars that bolt to bumper/frame for $350-450

Make one for 73-80 and 81-91

Crazy those push bars use to be a dime a dozen and now you don't see them anymore. I snagged mine off my dad's plow truck.

I built my swing out jerry can/tire holder using parts from etrailer.com. I use a 1" tractor pin to hold the 2 halves together on the bumper. My 2" receiver is separate from my bumper so this bumper worked perfect. Joel norcal

This issue kinda falls into 1 of 3 categories when looking for this stuff.
They don't make it
They don't make it anymore
I don't like it, making my own

You can always buy Jeep stuff and "graft" it to fit the blazer. There are a lot of swing out, swing down carriers on the market for Jeeps....cause they are still around and popular. DIY4x has a swing down style available for squares.

Valley Industries (latter Hickey) made swing out tire carriers. Broncos also had them as a factory option and you can make them fit on a Blazer.

Warn trans4mers were the winch mount from back in the day.

Truth!

Here's the thing overlooked on the valley and Hickey style tubular swing out. All the mounting points are to the sheet metal. Two on the quarter and one on the gate. They would crack the sheet metal with even a stock size spare. Forget about trying to carry a 33" tire or bigger on it.

If all you are going for is a stock look I can understand the want of those units. But if plans are going to include a larger than stock tire/wheel it's time to look into fabricating one.
