I’ve been searching every storefront I can think of and am coming up short. Anyone have any ideas where to get this or how to fab one? I really like the center section attachment to the tube bumper and the top/bottom swing points.

I don’t want to completely redo my rear bumper to change the drop down to a swing out carrier.

Depending on your bumper build you can add a carrier kit like the first pic. Both my swing gates have bearing/sleeve/spindle like that. I think you can get it at DIY4x but I did not see it on the site. DIY4x also has a great spare mount plate.

I never thought about using that spindle like you did. Nice! I’ve seen a large and smaller one on a few sites. I didn’t see that spindle in the DIY4x site.

You could use a spindle and hub from a 10b or D44 front axle. You'll find the bearings are much larger than the trailer spindles most fab shops sell online. Might be a little more challenging with a tube style bumper, but mines been bulletproof since we built it.

The hub trimmed of the wheel mounting surface and assembled on the spindle with the chunk of stub axle welded to the spindle.

The final product. Bonus going this way is by installing the lockout the swingout can be locked to any position regardless if the truck is parked level or not.

@ZooMad75 - I grabbed a front hub assembly years ago with that intention. I’ve got to look through things, I think I still have the hub assembly around somewhere.

I really like that design. The locking hub is a great / simple method to keep the swing out in place when open.

I’m still holding out trying to find a way to mount to my existing tube bumper and only adding one bar on the corner on each side. I built the tube wrapped around really close to the body once I went with the drop down design and I have the sides tied into the frame as well.

I’ve beaten up the bottom of my current carrier on some climbs. It’s held up well so far.

I’m considering copying this design if I can’t figure out how to build the spindle hinge from the first post.

Since you want to keep the existing tube bumper (which is sweet BTW) using a double sheer hinge setup would be the best way to go. You might have to add a lower tube to support it since your current lower tube angles up so quickly. But here's a hinge setup that you can buy ready to weld in and add your tube work to it.

This is Bronco video. Nice a clean.

Some great ideas being posted. I did find a double sheer hinge that I’m trying to fab up to the existing tubing. I’m going to have to add some tube for support or fab up some type of bracing.
