LOL your funny... yeah were both in the same boat...

for others...

problem for me is a few things..

1. there is so much going on in my head, ill type at times and no one can follow my thoughts... scary what goes on in here..
2. I could just put the truck up until I figure out if I'm getting this 8.1L or not.. guy has been hard to get a hold of and not paid yet.
3. I want to drive the truck so trying to decide how to fix it now to run but not spend extra cash so I end up having to undo what I'm going to do ....

for you... the hills, and needing the rpms, etc.. id go ......

8.1L .. !!!! LOL

now I run into another problem.. go figure... hah..

so I bought a high pressure line and an6 fittings.. this was to be temporary until I get (hopefully) the 8.1L..

well now I found out that I need an an6 fuel filter as the standard autozone ones are standard and an6 is metric?

so what would you buy?

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=an6+fuel+filter

I need to buy this for my carb

https://www.amazon.com/Edelbrock-Ru...ie=UTF8&qid=1529703401&sr=8-2&keywords=640230

but then that's wasted money... I gotta get a hold of this dude... for the motor..

AN is for Army Navy, the number is sized by 1/16”
So 6 is 6/16 or 3/8

Earls, Russell and the like sell a fitting for those Holley carbs. Haven’t looks for the one you need. I’d avoid that banjo end if it were me

ahh nice to know...

Fyi.. my carb has the banjo bolt. How would you like me to connect then?Screenshot_20180622-180305_Chrome.jpg

Ohhh, the evil cross over tube. Yeah that’s about all you get then

Just keep in mind the pressure may not play well with a carb type fuel filter

understood but the fuel filter im looking at is a efi filter... those clip on high pressure stock chevy hoses.. so that adapter above will take a clip on style efi filter and put an an6 on it... so I can then use the hose kit I bought...

actually maybe ill just buy this as it is all of it.. and the point is in the future.. when filter is clogged or needs replacing.. just buy a standard efi filter and take these quick connects off...

I don't understand your filter issue?

If the fittings are confusing, what do you have to work with?

Did you get a return style regulator?

no... I did not get a return style regulator...

issue is that I went to the tbi pump and certain areas on my fuel line do not have a flare and it seems that the pressure now has made it rain under my truck. under fuel pump and onto both mufflers.. yes ONTO my mufflers... yeah not good...

so lets back up really far....
I was supposed to get an 8.1L from a guy... 2.5 months ago.. been trying and trying... then he said he pulled it but fubared the wiring harness.... going back and forth, etc...

so I figured that this was not going to happen and I decided to at least order the fuel line and get my truck running.. if needed id get a return style regulator...

so the fuel line came with an6 fittings.. so I was trying to figure out how to get a fuel filter, etc... thus the question on an-6 filter... got one coming anyway...

so ive got this week, this weekend Saturday, my son graduation party then sunday is wifes bday..
then work next week and off to vacation.

now the guy just got back to me... were still a go on the 8.1L !!!!!!!! so I'm just gonna chill till he gets the shipping quote and all, and get it to come in.

I was kinda being impatient as my truck is down and I wanna drive it .... I sat with my truck down for 7 years.. now its on the road.. I want it out and about once a month and it hasn't left the driveway in 3 months...

Well hopefully that goes through for ya. Sounded like the 8.1 really is the best option for your use

FWIW the tpi pump with a return regulator has been working pretty good on the carb

NICE... yeah the 8.1L is an 01 so the 2001-2003 with desired return fuel rail is there!!!!

also I heard there was an issue with the exhaust manifold bolts being too small.. this motor had them removed and drilled/tapped for a larger bolt...
