I'm looking into purchasing about $125' of 3/8" synthetic winch rope. What brands do you guys swear by. Give me the ups and downs if you have them. Who has the best deals? I'll need a billet fairlead too. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

It's not billet - its better! It will work with both sythetic and wire rope.

the amsteel from rockstomper seems to be the cheapest. they make no claims of it holding up to heat. depending on your winch, it uses the drum as a brake, and on power out situations you are fighting the brake and producing heat, well, normally the wire acts as a heatsink for the drum.
depending on your winch. my 8274 doesnt use a drum brake, so i dont have to worry. scott said that it should be fine unless you power out for more than 20' wich seems pretty useless. freespool doesnt use the drum, so there is no worry there.

you wanna see pricey check out the warn winch rope.....
You can check out Master Pull to compare prices. I know they ain't the cheapest...
Rockstomper. It's been holding up fine for over two years now. During the wheeling season (spring - fall) it gets used quite often. Keep it off the rocks and you should have no problems. I did get an exra abrasion guard for the rope though.
