T-350 Vacuum line / 203 drain plug

Yea that is just a dust cover over the torq converter. Should not be leaking from there. The seal between the converter and housing might have gotten blown out if you over filled it. When it's hot what does your fluid level say? If it's still reading high then suck some out and MAYBE it'll reseal. Holla.

After further inspection, it then looked to come out of the corner of the oil pan. Took off the pan again, cleaned the surface of the tranny and the pan, put a tacky gasket sealer on the tranny and the pan and the gasket in between. Now when I filled it, it started to leak, and then when I started it, it stopped. I let the motor run for about 10 min and got the fluid level full during that time. Even got it to drive around the block. Still no leaks and full on fluid. I turned off the motor and after sitting for about 20 to 30 min...still no leaks. Yea ! Problem solved. Nope, the next moring a big puddle under the truck. Could it be leaking from where the filler tube plugs in? I know that the sleve there was a bit damaged and I had to reform it to get it to work. Maybe after an extended period of time the TC drains enough back into the pan to raise the level up past the filler tube inlet. Is that a possibility? Thats the only thing I can think of. If so, can I wipe it clean and RTV the crap out of it or is there a better way to fix this pain in my ass? Thanks in advance.

Part 1- You are supposed to let that RTV set up for awhile before you put fluids and pressure to it. Once it sets up then you can fill it and drive it.

Part 2- Yes, over time the fluid will drain back into the pan raising the level above where the dip stick tube goes into the case. There is an O ring around that thing. I run a lot of mud and water so therefore I took the pan off and ran silicone inside and out side of the tube and hole. I realize that over time the silicone could break down and get sucked into the screen but I think I'd rather deal with that then water or mud in my tranny. I have breathers for all drive trane components that runs up the firewall for this reason.

Seems to be where the kickdown cable connected. A small leak at the back side that was just big enought to irritate the piss out of me but hard to find. I drained it some, took it off, cleaned it up and resealed it with black hi temp oil restant rtv. Drove it a little today to the driveline shop and it seems to be holding up. Need to get my driveshafts longer as only the front one fit and its sloppy. Once the drivelines are done, the exhaust should be Monday or tuesday and it should be safe. Any idea on the thread pitch and size of the bolts that hold the side support bar on the 203 t-case? My support bar from the 700R4 is too long and the bolts dont match.

Glad you got the leak tracked down and taken care of. I don't recall a support rod on the side of the 203. When I swapped in the 205 I put a rod on the side of the case up to rthe lowest bell housing bolt. Didn't have the right length rod so cut it and sleeved it and plug welded the holes I drilled in the side of the sleeve. If you need the bolts hit a junk yard and grab some.

The 203 has quite a strong mount so I was not sure if it was necessary to have the rod, but it does have the 2 threaded holes to bolt a rod on so thats why I was thinking it might be a good idea. I halso hit the junk yards and turned up empty on the rod and bolts.

Maybe you can have the dealer look up the bolt size. Or drive into a bolt and screw place and see if they'll help you figure it out. I have an extra rod. It came off a 208 I believe.

I have the one for the 208 too and its too long. I might just have to cut it, shorten it and reweld it. I have no hope in my dealer as they cant find the bar in the computer. They could not even find the bolts that hold the TC cover on. This guy at the dealer had a hard time finding the transmission mounts. I think the first idea is the best. I will just drive to a parts store and try and match them up. I have her in the shop getting the new CV driveshaft made and the axle rotated for the lift.
