I have a Turbo 400 and NP205 t-case and I need a crossmember for this setup, Im not sure if there are different styles of crossmembers or what. if you have one let me know, thx. Dustin

What year is your setup? Main difference was by year 70's flat crossmember vs 80's single or double hump.

it came from an 80's model, 86 (I think) 1-ton. I have a double hump from an 86 4 speed truck with a NP208. are they the same?

I would expect it to work if it is out of the same series (1/2 or 3/4 ton vs/ 1 ton) that your truck is. The 1 ton frame is taller than the 1/2 or 3/4 ton so the crossmember is a little different between the two. But GM made all the crossmembers work for all tranny/tcase combo's if your adapter is the right height in that year range.

I'm not sure if there is a tall/short adapter in for the 400/205 like is common on the 400/208 or 700R4/208 combo's.

Measurements from the approx centerline of the adapter bore to the bottom of the foot should help you get the right crossmember though. There are three styles I have seen, flat (73-early 80's), double hump (mid 80's) and single hump (late 80's-91).

Round pattern 205 adapters are shorter in hieght than the figure 8 205 adapters, so that will make a difference. I do not know which year they swapped. from figure 8 to round pattern adapters.
