Hey Everyone,

I've got an 85 K5, all stock with a 305 .
I'm thinking about pulling the transfer case and rebuilding it with a rebuild kit, anyone have opinions or thoughts on a good kit?
I've talked to a few people and they said while I had it all pulled apart I might as well twin stick it while I was at it.... Anyone have a write up for this? Or opinions?

Thanks guys,
Surveyor

If it's stock it will have the 208 which is easy to rebuild but have yet to hear someone twin sticking it.

I don't think it's possible to twin stick a 208. There is only one shift lever on the outside of the case. Plus there isn't a range box like on the 203. being chain driven the way it is....the front and rear output shafts will turn at the same speeds.

Are you looking for the twin stick for a 2wd low? I know they make a 2wd low kit for the NP 231, if you are looking for 2wd low, but I am not sure if they make any kind of one for a NP 208.

You could just leave the hubs turned to free in 4lo if that is all that you are after.

Not a big fan of the 208 here since everyone I have had/seen pops out of gear somewhat routinely.
