Looking for the Transfer Case to Trans "Support Rods"

NP208/241 to SM465

I've done some homework and consulted another GM guru, and I'm not entirely convinced that these support rods were ever used on a SM465/NP208 combination. They seem to only be referenced for automatics. I've learned that these rods are available in different lengths too.

I appreciate your offer though. :waytogo:

Can you tell me what it came off of? Was it used on a SM465/208 (241) combo?
 
Mine came off of a factory SM465/NP208

Okay. Does the other end attach to the bellhousing, or somewhere else?

My bell is a GM 460486 and doesn't have any provisions (holes) for the rod to attach.
 
It mounts via one of the belhousing --> engine bolts. I think it was the bolt just above the starter, but I don't remember exactly since I removed it a few months ago.
 
The rods attach to the bottom of the bellhousing itself. I know hydraulic clutch bellhousings are drilled/tapped, never seen a mech style like that.

You will also need the brackets at the motor mounts.


What is the bracket at the motor mount?
I don't remember mine having anything there.
 
Sorry, I deleted my post. I misread and thought he was looking for the bellhousings to motor mount bars. :doah:
 
So there are support bars that attach the bell to the motor mounts also???:confused::doah:

Yikes. What risks do I take if I don't have any support bars? Cracked bell? Cracked t-case?
 
Any of the bars are great insurance and I'd get them if you can but plenty of trucks are running around without them with no damage.

I have the motor mount bars on my K5, at some point I'll fab a tcase bar to fit my doubler.
