203 & 205 are both cast iron. 203s are all fixed yoke, 205s came w/ both fixed & slip. Since you said you have a swapped in trans it could be either, but would have come w/ a 203. Try again and make sure it has 3 pos not 5. I would bet it has has 5. The big give away on the 203 is the big range box at the front. On a 205 its the idler cover held on by 3 bolts. The only three pos x-fer cases I know of are the fulltime ones in the Jeep Grand Cherokees and they are alum.
