So I'm contemplating swapping my t18 for a th350 and keeping the Dana 20 with tera low gear set. I'm trying to determine what stall torque converter would be best for the setup. Currently I have the 3.15:1 tcase, 4.56 in the axles, and run 38.5" tires, mild 350, but will have a 383 swap in the not too distant future. If I go the auto route ill do a reverse manual valve body. As I'm not very familiar with autos, what stall torque converter would work best, and why? This is not a street driven vehicle, and mainly sees rocks.

Build your stall to satisfy the cam and what kind of driving you will do, mud, rocks, trails etc. Low stall makes rock bumping a little easier but low stall will push through your brakes in low range and scare the bejeebers out of you too. Higher stall speed is great for mud or to tame idle speed with a rowdy cam, these build more heat when crawling and require more throttle at low speeds.
