I am looking for advice. There is a 5.7 tbi in my 1989 v1500 suburban. I purchased a complete swap kit including pedals, np241 transfer case etc out of a a 1993 k3500 with 6.5 diesel. What issues will I be facing with swap and what parts will be needed. BTW The tbi 5.7 will be replaced with 383 stroker.

Thanks in advance

Only thing good to your burb is the trans and bell housing . The rest is not useable in our body style . And WOW thats a crazy price.

If you plan to doa 4x4 swap then use a 78-79 ford axle and then you can use that t-case .

Unfortunately like sweetk30 said the tcase is for the wrong side and the clutch pedal setup is completely different from a squarebody.

The bellhousing does work but due to the pass side slave you’ll need at least a 4” lift to allow the front driveshaft to clear the slave comfortably.

Manual stuff is difficult to find for either body style truck so you could sell the stuff you don’t need to recoup some cash to get the right stuff for a square.

You’ll need late squarebody hydraulic clutch pedal assembly and a 32 spline input passenger drop 208, 241 or 205 with the 6 bolt round mounting flange.

Or you run a super duty 60 with a driver side front pumpkin to retain what looks to be a driver drop 241 on that setup.

I'm on the fence about fixing this burb up. I think I'll part it out and get a 94-96 to swap the stick into. Thanks for the reply.

why part it out ? Is the th350 shot ? I would think the whole truck would bring more than part out, and much less work.

Blown head gasket, leaking trans fluid and power steering pump shot. I'll just post it on local craigslist for a parts vehicle

Weird thread, buys trans for $4600 with plans for 383, finds out the accessories wont work and scraps the whole project :dunno:

Lol I can see why you would say this but the price pictured isn't what was paid. I'm considering options of fixing up my 1989 v1500 suburban or buying a complete v2500 to install the manual transmission. Plans are liquid at this point

At this point since you've already bought those parts, it'll be cheaper for you to source a Ferd Dana 60, with drivers drop pumpkin. You'd be money ahead at that point anyway:deal:

Not to mention, you could have probably picked all that stuff up at picknpull for just a couple hundred bucks
