Tabor really made by warn?

I got to see one in action recently...

TARussell had his '02 Dodge CTD mildly stuck on a hill and we tried a Tabor 8k or 9k (can't remember which) and it could hardly pull it. Another friend with a Warn 9500 stepped up and easily pulled it out.

You get what you pay for. :wink1:

Good to know. Milemarker might be better in this case from costco for 250 less.

Milemarkers aren't very good winches either. If I was going to buy a cheap winch it would be a Ramsey or a lowend Warn. I have seen both Warns and Ramsey's in action and they both do well. You do get what you pay for though. If you are willing to spend the money a Warn 9500 is a damn good winch. They pull fast and they pull very hard. I have seen a fair amount of winches in action over the last several years and I am very impressed with the Warn 9500's and the Ramsey Patroit 9500 that I have seen in action. My buddies in AZ test these winches alot and they always work well and always come back for more.

For a budget winch I have been very impressed with the performance of the cheapy Ramsey 8500. A buddy of mine has one on his truggy and it has always performed well enough to get him out of where he was stuck.
