BS aside it can be done, but it's a fair bit of work swapping all the tailgate guts. It's usually easier to repair the power window assembly.

Last weekend I changed my manual tailgate to power. So the reverse would be even easier.... not wiring to run and hook up. Depending on your mechanical ability overall it's pretty easy for the average shade tree mechanic.
Oh, and I had to have the key window switch re-keyed to my Blazer keys. That cost me $20. So if you gutted a parts truck at a yard you would have to have this done also.
