tail pipe locations

Where you guys recomend the best placing for the tail pipes to avoid rocks? Sides infront of tire, behind, Straight out the back?

Had em stuck behind the tire on my street driven blazer and tucked up a lot more along the rear quarter on the off road version.

Here's mine, it dumps behind the rear tire but is tucked way up in the fender.
