Tailgate Lock Compatibility?

Hi All,

I finally found a decent used power tailgate that is perfect except that the whole lock mechanism is missing.

OK I know that a Suburban tailgate wont work for the Blazer but will the locking mechanism work? The local Pick a Part has about 10 Suburbans with the Hardware but no Blazers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Burb will not work. It is a Blazer only item.

Scott, some (only a few) parts are interchangable between the two surprisingly.

Im not sure what it is called but I need the chrome handle for the outside of the tailgate. I need one with a key to roll up and down the window.

Yes, that is the same, along with the inside handle and the little mechanism thingy that the inside handle pushes on.

I took a look through Classic Parts catalog and they show the Blazer and Burb as using the same tailgate roll up handle. I know that the window regulators are different between blazer and burb and if power window the motors are different as well.

Yeah, internal stuff is different, external stuff is the same.

Sweet, that is good to hear, I have all the internals and everything works perfectly I just need the external bezel and lock switch to operate the window.
