tailgate swap ?

Hey all, Im about to swap a P/U tailgate onto my blazer. Im getting the scissor hinges and the clasps( forgot the real name for em).

But do I need the pivot cups from the bottom? or does the blazer have em? From what Ive seen the pivot cups on the P/U bed have 2 bolts securing but it looks to be pressed/welded into place. If thats the case how do i get em out?

They bolt on with two bolts.

and you need them.

The blazer gates hinge completely differently than truck gates. however, the blazer has all the bolt holes you'll need already there.

I just did the same thing, might be a good idea to chase the threads of the holes in the blazer that mount the pick-up gate hardware, as they have probably never had a bolt run thru them since new. Don't be underneath the Blazer gate when you take the last bolt outta the hinges............LOL

I agree. I just did this aa few months ago... Very easy swap but the threads on my blazer were full of paint, mud, and what ever else...
