Take apart a tailgate?

Do we have a thread here for taking a tailgate apart and putting it back together? I need to take some old parts and put them in a new shell. Anyone have any how to on this?

What are you taking out ? I just completely tore my own down to an empty shell 3 weeks ago.

I can help - But no "how to" write up.

I have a new shell to replace the old. The old was completely rusted out at the bottom and didn't appear to be savable. This and the new floor I'm getting means I have a chance to take the old off and salvage everything to put in the new.

I had a new motor already for the window. I have purchased new support cables and weatherstripping for the window opening. All else appeared to be functional when the process began.

Your help is most welcome.

While I'm here, how far out is the harness for the power window? Will I have to cut it when I remove the tailgate?

There are a couple plugs down by the left hinge. Unplug and go.

Which will leave you about a 12" tail..... Simple
