TBI 350 Power Upgrades

That second video really doesn't give one an idea what they are listening for.

It definitely doesn't sound like lifter tick to me. I can't identify it as rod knock, but I'd definitely describe that as a knock, not a tick.

When my 350 TBI engine died it cracked a head. Coolant then then got into the combustion chamber, and hydrauliced the engine causing a rod knock. I never over heated my engine or anything. It just cracked from old age. TBI heads have thin castings, and can get brittle from old age and crack.

I started the truck this morning after sitting all weekend and it didn't make the noise. It was 39 degrees so I don't think it is temperature related. I find it odd how random it is. I am still waiting on my Blackstone Labs analysis. The hurricane caused a mail delay.

Blackstone got back to me and said everything looked great. They suggested that it may be a lifter that makes noise until it builds oil pressure. I am going to try a different filter and see what happens.
