what all has to be swapped to take out a bb and swap in a sb? will the wiring other than the computer work? anything to look out for?

nope.
I think the TPS is wired differently, and some/all big blocks didn't use a knock sensor, VSS is different '90-91 and early, but as long as one is not an electric trans donor and the other is, I *think* all the other wiring is good.
The IAC wiring and the TPS wiring connectors are different.
so if i swap i the wiring harness from fire wall forward to the sb wiring and the computer it should all hook up? i have a 89 3/4 ton with the 454 and have a 89 1/2 ton with the 350 and want to put the 350 in the 3/4 ton to keep the 454 before i give it to my oldest son for a tow rig.

I'm not entirely sure if the IAC and TPS is pinned the same but just different connectors. Either way changing the front engine harness will need to be done to go from BBC to SBC and if needed then you can repin the connectors correctly (assuming they are different).
Now if you were going from a SBC to a BBC then Turbo city sells a conversion harness for the connector differences but i've never seen them for the reverse.
Also, the ECM is the same, it's the chip that is different.
