Yeah, that appeals to me because down the road I might be inspired to hop up the 454. Another thing I liked about the Holley Sniper is that it can control both Windstar fans independently and allow me to set whatever temperatures I want for on/off.

Awesome. So glad we have a resident fuel injection nerd again!I'm down to tune! I've got mine running damn smooth and pulling great mpg on the highway. Ran down to Walsenburg and back the other day and averaged 17.1mpg. Did realize the truck needs a roadrunner slant nose on it, at 90mph if you let off the throttle, it feels like you threw and anchor out! I'm enjoying running up the passes and Mt Antero without having to stop every so often to retune the carb!
I'm also working on a plug and play adapter for dropping in a 16197427 pcm and running it with a maf. The maf code has all kinds of fun sounding things to play with like independent control of dual fans, wbo2 logging, etc. Really only going to do it just to give me something to do once the snow comes and I close up the mines for the year

I was looking at that earlier. What ECM did you have originally? It sounds like you are trying to save some coin with Course of Action #1, but I have one of these ECUs for my 350 tbi, http://www.dynamicefi.com/, and im more than happy with it. Just another option for ya.
I'm not really interested in burning chips. A few years ago when I had more free time I might have tackled it. I'd rather have something already set to go or something that will self tune and/or use an easy interface to tune on the fly. I don't necessarily have a problem with pulling the stuff from the junkyard, the TBI trucks just aren't showing up very often the yard here anymore.
