im starting my tbi 454 swap into my jimmy next week and havent found a k5 fuel tank and pump yet. is there a aftermarket fuel pump that will work with the tbi system?my donor is a suburban and the tank is too large to fit.i did a search but didnt find what i was looking for.thanks

turbocity do all that TBI stuff. I used one of their inline TBI pumps which they also supply with their TBI kits. They're a bit noisey but any pump would be when it's outside of the tank.

When I converted I ordered a new steel tank from O'reilly's and used the in-tank pump. The main advantage to TBI is to operate at extreme angles, and the proper, baffled tank with an in-tank pump is a must. Cost was ~$100 and it uses a steel baffle versus the plastic stock one (which can break easily).

Plus, I like using stock replacement parts - they're easier to find when you need them.

I looked in the local junkyards for one before ordering...too few K5's to pick from!.

I did the same swap on my k5 and used a 30 gal. tank with a 40 gal. tank sending unit off a sub. All you need to do is buy a tank.
