This is located at the top of the case for the shift rail roll pin access. I cut npt threads and plug these instead of the rubber plugs on nearly every case I have built. Being a lomax I am particularly scrutinizing of the unique parts.

This is at a casting seam and I can feel it with a pic. It also has enough of a ledge that it can catch light. I can not see any other "crack" on the cast surfaces or any other origination.

I am thinking its ok, but the height difference is somewhat unsettling for sure.

The resolution makes it really difficult to see, and its even more uncertain in person.

Here is the seam.

That has some ruff casting. Must have been made at quitting time. I have a couple of Lowmax cases and they are a lot smoother casting. Pretty sure that is a crack but it doesn’t look very deep at all. Tried to take some pictures of mine for comparison but it is really hard to get a decent picture. Want to buy a new Lowmax case?

Well I was kinda hoping, but that was why I asked if you had cleaned it better

Sure it ain't a crack? If it is, it seems like an odd place to crack. But it sure looks like one.

Yeah I'm totally with you there. Thats why I was worried. But, I was able to relocate it by running the tap. Confirming my suspicion of me being stoops.

Or a lot. I tried like hell to get one back in the days. No matter what I did, could never get one secured

Same here. Its been an easy decade I have known about it. Then ol boy up there hoggin em all up!

only thing i wish now is ether a rare lowmax on a doubler . . . or just go magnum box doubler setup for the true 3 speed .

love my 203/205 but sure wish i had a mid gear option .
