is anyone going? my neighbor has a late 70s jeep wagoneer that he's restoring and is looking to make this his deadline event so it looks like i'm going. its bout 5hrs from vegas but it looks like we can stretch that to about hrs by taking dirt roads where ever possible.

I'm looking into it. Think of taking the motorhome out and have the Mrs drive the blazer there and back.

Is it still 90% drunken idiots driving around with their Coors Light cans flying out of their trucks at every bump?

I certainly hope not. I have never been but I would imagine should an incident/accident happen with alcohol involved, it would be a very bad thing.

Yes, it does draw a large crowd, and some stupid stuff. TDS does do a pretty good job of inspections for their trail rides, but there are plenty of people running around doing their own thing.

They do put on a killer raffle. Winches, wheels and tire packages, etc. They even had an active duty only raffle (25 of us) for a Lowrance GPS.

If I had to deal with a crowd, I would rather volunteer at KoH (another great raffle) and wheels at Truckhaven some other weekend with no crowd for the play area or trails.

There is always an accident or two. I'm thinking there was a death recently 2010-2012, but I can't find the story right now.

I've gone every year since '06. It's way too crowded to go on the trail runs but there is plenty of room to do your own thing. I've tried to organize a CK5 run but with no luck.

The raffle is awesome and the fireworks are spectacular.

FYI there is no alcohol allowed in the 4x4 "training area" and you will get a ticket if caught.

All the folks that drink & wheel go to The Notches. I advise to just sit back and watch it and not drop on because that's where all the accidents happen.

There was a fatality last year, and every year life flight makes an appearance.

I can't go anymore because I moved away.
