I need some help with my Warn Winch.
Last night I pulled my friends toyota out with the winch. I did a short pull with the winch for about 15 seconds.
The toyota got stuck again I hooked up the winch it the switch and all it did was make a buzzing sound sort of like when a starter is dead. I am thinking maybe it is the solinoid but compleatly shure. Any help would be cool.

Clean your battery cable connections. Mine does this every few months or so. I clean up the connections and away it goes. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just a bit of info on those solenoid packs, if a solenoid ever goes out, all they are are standard ford starter solenoids /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif just go to auto parts store and pick on up /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

It's just a Ford solenoid? Man, that's good info.

Dumb question - do the i series winches and the non-i series winches use the same solenoid, or what?

I am not 100% sure but, I believe they are continuous duty solenoids which look just like a ford starter solenoid but not the same thing. In a pinch I am sure a ford starter solenoid would get the job done but it won't last long. Just my $.02
