technical question on tires!

or hard plastic. basically something semi solid. I asked about shrink wrap or a big bag. I picked the guys brain at the post office for a good 40 minutes. He had to get books out and ask other people. I made real sure there wasn't some kind of loophole we were missing. The 109" limit is actually for a faster service. the slowest way cuts us off at 98" and there is no way that tire is getting that small.

Diagonal belted tires are probably radials. If you are interested in the difference between bias and radial tires, read here:

very interesting tech article on that site! :waytogo:
They say that air pressure of bias belted tires is very important. Are the Baja Belted a bias ply or bias belted? I guess Bias belted. Does anybody know how much air pressure is right for my K5? For street use.

Wow! If Bias tires withstand such abuse, they must be really tough! Then I understand why it can be ratchet strapped for shipping.

Looks like I am going to go buy some cheap ratchet straps. Or do you want good ones? It's your dime.

good question  basically I prefer good quality rahter then cheap junk. But cheap does not always mean bad quality as expensive does not always mean good quality. However, since I planned to buy some ratchet straps to secure stuff on my roof rack and inside the truck I can use them anyway. I'm sure you know best what are good ones. Just saw some sets (4pcs) of 2" wide heavy duty ratched straps for less then $ 40,- so I leave it up to you. But if possible black or gray ones please :D
Just let me know how much I have to paypal you.

it's a good thing you picked a color. I buy the bright ones like yellow or light blue. It makes them easier to find. I'll see what I can find in 2".

well...basically any color will do fine, but hey...how does a mean truck with no chrome parts and dark paint job look like when a yellow strap lugs out the roof :doah: :D
