5.3L cleaned, painted ready for test fit.

Got the motor cleaned and painted.



Now I need to find some headers that will work with this motor in a K5.

Any recommendation.

I can't wait till you get that thing in there and give some feedback. Those motors around here are cheaper than a 6.0 and I would like to swap one into Horton one of these days

Same here. I want to see how it goes. I want to do a 6.0 or a 6.2 if I could find a wrecked truck for the right price.

Talk to S&P and they make some they say will fit, guess I'm going to order some and see.

Picked up the 4L60E yesterday (08 with only 30K on it).

Also got the 205 painted and ready to be put back together.

New gas tank should be in the next week or so, but did get all the fuel line and fittings from summit.
Getting closer to having everything for the swap.

Nope it just getting a good cleaning. Was told not to Paint it because it will cause it to hold heat.

well aluminum is such a great heat conductor, I don't think a paint job would hurt it at all, especially if you got a good cooler in the grille!
Flat or semi black would actually help pull the heat out of the trans.

If I do anything I will just put a coat of aluminum engine paint.

Got an email today form Classic Parts. Finally got my new gas tank and sending unit in and shipped it. Shows I will get it Monday.

Got the motor mounts and pitman arm back from powder coat and poly motor mounts.

Also got the new gas tank and sending unit today from Classic Parts.

And does anyone know what line this hooks up to? I thought the new motor had a return less fuel system.
