Teck's '86 K5 Build -5.3 LS/4L65E swap

I track it on my wife's suburban and it goes back to the tank. So is it like the one that went to the charcoal canister originally.
Guess I will need another fitting form Summit. Just when I thought I had everything for the fuel system.

If it just goes to a purge solenoid on the engine you can remove it and plug the purge solenoid hole then have the evap stuff removed from the tune it's not needed on these type swaps.

Will the motor sit in there with no oil pan issues?.

For headers, I'm guessing you could use just about any block hugger type as there is tons of room between the frame rails

I was told it should with the mounts I got. Started taking the front clip apart to get ready to test fit the motor, so i will know before long if it's going to work or not.

Did you really need to ask that question? :haha: He has his bumper brackets looking better then any piece on any of my trucks! Im betting the core support will get the glossy black treatment!

Thats why I HAD to ask every thing else is perfect! it stands out !

Their cheaper and easier to use than prepping and painting. I will take it like it is, they will blast it and coat it. I don't even want to mess with trying to prep it for paint.

Made some more progress.

No more dirty ugly core support.(another trip to the powder coat shop)

Found a lot of bolts that will need cleaning and painting.:eek1::eek1::eek1:
Hope to have the tranny back soon so I can get the engine, tranny and transfer case in.

Good job! What you doing to clean all your nuts and bolts? Also, I Just dream of seeing this thing with a set of "normal" tires on it! I dig the look of those wheels and tires, but i also like the look of a typical 35 or whatever. Do you think you will stick with this wheel and tire combo for ever?

I gotta ask , how much do you see yourself driving this thing?????? It's so nice I wouldn't wanna drive it for fear of getting it dirty or scratching it

Wire wheel is how I have been cleaning bolts the whole time.

Will be getting new tires after I get it running, I do wish the wheels were not 14"s wide so I had more option on tires, but I just can't see me getting rid of the weld wheels sense I can't get them any more.

Not sure how much I will drive it yet, It sure would suck to get caught out in the rain.:doah:

Well you dont have to get rid of them silly! You could just keep those wheels and tires around for when you are in that kind of mood and get some other ones for the rest of the time! Either way, your truck is amazing. So dont over think it. Thats the sucky thing about having a truck so crazy clean, is that i would be pissed if i had to drive it in the rain! Especially on the interstate where i would be sure to get massive water spray everywhere!
