Teck's '86 K5 Build -5.3 LS/4L65E swap

Finally took some time to start cleaning up the paint after all these years.
This is after 3 hour of cleaning and claying it. Still needs a good coat of wax.:doah:

ATF is leaking through the adapter plate into the 205. This suck I put all new seals in it when I built it. I'm thinking the sleeve may be worn letting the fluid get thru. I may just order a new one from Advance Adapters.
Any thoughts.
I hate the fact that I will have to pull the 205 back out to fix this problem.

Got a new toy yesterday, a gopro camera. Took a couple of video of the rear driveshaft going do the road. Just have to figure out how to edit it get them uploaded.

Haven't don much with the blazer over hunting season, now that it is over and spring will be here soon.

I made A list of things I need to work on getting done.

New power sleeve from Advance Adapters to hopefully stop the tranny fluid from leaking into the transfer case.
Fix speedo gear to read more accurate with gears and tires.
New rear driveshaft with a CV joint
New rear yoke for 205 for CV joint
New front driveshaft (longer with a higher angle CV)
New differential covers
Replace tie rod with ORD tie rod and tie rod ends
New 5150 Bilstein shocks

Teck,

Thanks for posting pics in the before an after thread. That lead me to read your entire build thread.

All I have to say is WOW! :eek1: Amazing work!:waytogo::bow:

Thanks

I just need some time and motivation work on it some more, been real busy with family stuff.

Took it for a much needed drive today.
Haven't really done much with it in the last few months.
Had a guy pull up beside me going down the road and asked if it was for sale.
I said no. He then offered me 25k for it. And of course I said no its not for sale.

Indecent proposal?

I think its a somewhat common problem, but not sure what the fix is, did you get it figured out?

Not yet, It did it before when it was in there with the 700R4.
I put all new seals in it hoping it would fix it, but it didn't.
The trans fluid is thinning out the 90w and then over fulling the 205, causing it to push fluid out and leak.
Talked to advanced adapters and am going to order a new power sleeve/ coupler. Everybody seem to think it is leaking down the splines. GM made a seal that went on the shaft that was to seal that but nobody seem to make them anymore. It has been suggested that I put RTV on the shaft when put the new one in to seal it.

how about something that would stay a little flexible like plumbers putty or similar?
